Antonio Brown gets brutal injury update after bye week

It looks like Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown is still far from being 100 percent.

While there are indeed fears that Brown’s ankle injury could be a long-term one, some people actually hope he would be ready in time for the Buccaneers’ Week 10 game after a bye week. Unfortunately, the gravity of Brown’s health issue remains as initially feared.

As head coach Bruce Arians updated reporters on Monday, Brown is still in a walking boot as he continues his recovery, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Buccaneers face the Washington Football Team this coming Sunday, and by the looks of it, Antonio Brown will likely miss his third straight game. He sustained the injury during their Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, forcing him to sit out their Week 7 and 8 contests with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints, respectively.

Before his latest injury, the four-time All-Pro has featured in five games for the Buccaneers. He has recorded 29 receptions and 418 yards en route to four touchdowns. He is a critical part of the offense, and without him, Tom Brady will have to utilize the other targets he has at his disposal.

Having Brown would have added another dynamic to their passing game and an additional threat that defenses would need to worry about. Unfortunately, Tampa Bay will probably have to wait a bit longer before getting him back to full health.
